ICI’s Director Michaeli Key-Note Speaker at Shanghai Competitive Intelligence Forum 2019 (SCIF)
„Open Science and Open Innovation“ was the theme of this year’s bi-annual international conference of the Shanghai Competitive Intelligence Forum (SCIF) and the International Council for Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI), September 25/26, 2019.
ICI’s Director Rainer Michaeli was honoured to present a key-note speech at this prestigious event, which was hosted by the Shanghai Library.
Michaeli addressed the international audience with a presentation indicating how companies can use the notion of open innovation through scenario-based war games. Illustrating his points with an example from the emerging market of flying taxis, Michaeli argued that in high rivalry situations companies have to find a way of developing eco-systems even with competitors, while maintaining control over their IP.
With an audience and speakers from various backgrounds and industries the conference was truly an interesting and inspiring exchange of thoughts and ideas on competitive intelligence. “Our field needs this type of exchange in order to keep itself up to date and being able to provide real benefits for the marketing, sales and production teams of an organization” Michaeli stated. With that in mind he is looking forward to continue this exchange of ideas at the next international Competitive and Market Intelligence Conference 2020 the ICI organizes in Germany on May 11-14, 2020.
