Bar-camp: Best Practices in CI/MI (Re)search 2022
In this year’s CI/MI Bar-camp we discussed a topic that is more relevant than ever:
How to research in 2022 and beyond?
But wait! Do you know what a bar-camp is? We conducted a poll and observed that most of our attendants didn’t.
In a bar-camp, the participants set the agenda, so we used a virtual whiteboard tool (MIRO) to create proposals for topics and vote for the most popular ones.
Then we opened 3 rooms with the topics and the attendants chose which topic they wanted to discuss individually. Each participant could add to the discussion by placing sticky notes onto the virtual whiteboard for their room. This way we discussed and documented the results on the fly.
So, the audience decided to discuss the following topics:
- What trends do you as a CI/MI practitioner see in the future?
What are the best data sources for your daily work? - New and innovative tools and methods for specific questions
- How to automate CI/MI tasks?
- Verification and falsification of information / data / opinions from secondary and primary research
- How to effectively get outside your filter bubble. Technologies, approaches, etc.
The results can be viewed directly in the above slideshow of the virtual whiteboard created during the session.
Of course, nothing beats live experience and active participation, so if you want to join our autumn bar-camp, then please register for our complete autumn conference journey (or book the autumn bar-camp as a single event).
