Intelligence professionals need to master their profession in order to generate competitive advantages for their organizations. Beyond industry experience, this job requires competences in information retrieval, competitive analysis, and communication. Creativity, problem-solving skills, a high degree of independence, and decision-making under time pressure are all additional traits of intelligence profession. This workshop will introduce you to the art of intelligence-specific methodologies and approaches.
Based upon practical hands-on exercises and challenges, you’ll have the chance to try out these approaches and optimize your intelligence competences and skills.

- CI competences and related skills: The CI body of knowledge (BOK), personality profiling, and self-assessment.
- Project management for CI tasks: Organizing activities; checklists for planning and execution.
- Speed-reading, critical thinking, and problem-solving methodologies for intelligence analysts.
- Intelligence reports (briefs, analysis, situational analysis, documentation, progress reports, …): formats, writing styles, and processes.
- Presenting intelligence to peers and senior management.
- Ethics in intelligence – creating a guideline for the ethical collection and processing of competitive information.
- Reporting skills for intelligence professionals: analytical writing, visualization in reports, and oral presentations.
- Developing your CI/MI career: Do’s and Don’ts.
- Software tools for personal CI effectiveness.
